### LIBERTY!

by Débora Gobitta

Brazil | 2024 | 85 min. | DCP - 16/9 - Color | Portuguese | Society, Human Rights, Education

In a country with the third-largest prison population in the world, authoritarian forces exploit incarceration as a false promise of public safety, linking fear to punishment. Liberty! follows a powerful literacy-based sentence reduction program transforming lives behind bars. Through intimate access, the film reveals how reading becomes a tool for freedom, self-discovery, and resistance, offering a profound critique of a system that profits from oppression.
