a film by: Meton Joffily
Pedro, a Brazilian gay immigrant, works as a remote interpreter, trapped in a monotonous routine inside a decaying guesthouse on the outskirts of Lisbon. His only company is Júlia, the enigmatic landlady with whom he shares a complex, voyeuristic bond. Seeking escape, he crosses the river to Lisbon for tarot readings, art, and fleeting encounters. But as tensions rise and his sense of self unravels, Pedro is forced to confront the shifting nature of his relationships and desires. In a journey of escape and transformation, he must decide what—if anything—can truly set him free.
